December 12, 2010 - We have been told by PCCTV that it is in the process of changing their process for annual internet renewals, and in the future they will be notifying subscribers by mail when this service requires renewal. The phone call reminders will be discontinued. If you have any further questions please read the December 10, 2010 note below. » UPCOMING CHANNEL MOVES
*There will be an On-Screen Display (OSD) message and guide listing for 2 weeks on the old channel number.
December 10, 2010 Recently we were made aware of the renewal process for PCCTV's annual Internet subscription.
PCCTV claims they make a phone call to subscribers two weeks before the annual contract is due for renewal. In practice it appears a number of people are receiving a call two days before it is due.
The call comes from a private number, not the 877 PCCTV customer service line. People are then told they need to renew their annual Internet subscription by the due date, or they will have their service disconnected. The caller asks for a credit card account number over the phone. Many people have refused to give out their credit card information to this unknown caller. In these time of wide spread identity theft, this is certainly understandable.
Until this process gets resolved, I would suggest the following:
1) If you get such a call, my suggestion, rather than getting upset with the caller, thank them for informing you about the renewal date, hang up, and then call 1-877-410-1653 which is PCCTV's customer service line, to confirm the due date and make arrangements with them for renewal if you chose to do so.
2) If you think your subscription is approaching the one year mark, I'd suggest that you be proactive with this renewal and call 1-877-410-1653 to confirm the renewal date and make arrangements with them if you decide to renew.
We are having continuing discussions with PCCTV about changing this process, and we will let you know if they are going to change this. In the meantime, I think the suggestions above will help deal with this renewal process in a smooth and secure manner.
If you have any questions or concerns, drop me an e-mail.

June 9, 2010 PCCTV has brought a new high speed line for internet into the building. Because of this they are now able to offer competitive rates for higher speed internet to our owners. The current 1.5 mb line is still available, but in addition, for those people who would like higher speed access, they now offer 3.0 mb and 6.0 mb rates at an additional cost. Click Here for their flyer and call their customer service number if you are interested in this upgrade.
January 28, 2010 On February 11, 2010 - there will be PCCTV Training in the Islandia I Social room beginning at 11:00 AM. This will be small group training primarily on how to work the features on the DirecTV remote and answer whatever questions you might have about the DirecTV service. The sign up sheet is in the lobby near the office window. If you didn't go to the first session it is highly recommended you make every attempt to attend this one.
January 9, 2010 If you have subscribed for DirecTV HD service you will be receiving a notice that their HD rates are going from $10 per month to $11 per month effective February 9, 2010. This is a rate change from DirecTV, not PCCTV. The prices for PCCTV's delivery of the DirecTV bulk service to the building is a fixed cost for 2010 and will be increased by 5% each of the four subsequent years of the contract. As an aside, the Comcast increases for bulk delivery were 7% per year for previous years, and their 2010 proposal was to reduce this to 6% per year. DirecTV increases for their premium services are not under PCCTV's control, just as Comcast in the past could increase the price of its premium services at will.

October 14, 2009 To: Islandia I Unit Owners If you have not already sent in your survey for the installation of the new Cable TV system in Islandia I, please do so as soon as possible. Failure to do so, could potentially delay installation in your unit and if the installation is not completed before the end of January, you could be liable for additional installation charges. If you have not had a receiver unit installed in your unit, the only option to receive TV in your unit will be to individually contract for retail TV services from Comcast. To enable Comcast retail TV services requires an extra line to your unit installed by Comcast. If you want a TV signal in your unit, you must do something, because the signal to your unit from DirecTV will not work without a receiver. Please click on the implementation survey below, print it out, complete the form, and mail or fax (772-229-3592) it to the office as soon as possible. Page down to see more details about the PCCTV installation plan and frequently asked questions. Thanks, Bert McConnell
October 2, 2009 To: Islandia I Owners Subject: PCCTV TV/Internet Installation We are currently planning for the installation of the People’s Choice Cable TV (PCCTV) DIRECTV and Internet connections within Islandia I. Beginning shortly, PCCTV will install the roof satellite dish and the cabling to each of the floors of the building. No work is required inside of your units so this activity will be transparent to the owners. The first and primary training session is now scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 6:30PM in the Islandia I Social Room. At this time you will be able to learn more about PCCTV’s offerings and sign up for your choice of receivers. If you can not attend this session, you will be able to meet with PCCTV support personnel at another time. However, this will likely be the only group session where you will be able to get the most information in a short time. All receivers must be located in an area where the remote can send a signal directly to the cable box without any interference such as pieces of furniture, etc. (this is referred to as ‘line of sight’) to change channels and turn it on and off. The cable box requirement is applicable for each TV, and it will be necessary for you to appoint someone (if you are not in residence at this time) to allow access to your unit, and to instruct the installer exactly where the box or boxes should be installed. This may be a dresser or nightstand in bedrooms or a shelf in the living room. This is also applicable to the internet installation. Please discuss the placements and equipment you are ordering with the person who will be in your unit instructing the installer. This step is very important to insure that you are satisfied with the install. All DIRECTV receivers are approximately 10” wide, 2” high and 5” deep. DVR receivers are approximately the same size as a standard DVD or VCR player. PCCTV will be installing the receivers starting in December and will conclude their installations by the end of January. Installations after this time will be subject to installation charges payable by the owner. If you have any further questions about the PCCTV installation plans, contact the Islandia I Office (772-229-3591) or access the PCCTV details on the website (www.islandiai.com), click on Islandia I Management and page down to the PCCTV documents. March 6, 2009 As many of you are probably aware, the charge for basic cable services from Comcast has been going up at a rate of 7% per year. We will pay more than $78,000 for these services in 2009 and this bill will be over $102,000 in the next four years, with no end to these increases in sight. And, this does not include the additional fees many owners pay for high speed internet, premium cable channels, DVR, or cable telephone. Late last year the board was approached by Treasure Coast Integration (TCI), a company which offers integrated packages for Standard and Premium TV channels, including HD, telephone services, and high speed internet. Their proposal included a price freeze for six years, onsite purchased equipment to integrate the above services, at reduced bundled prices. The package requires considerable up-front cost for on-site equipment and connectivity to each unit. To understand what the business case is to undertake such an implementation, we need to survey each owner to understand what services they currently use. Based on the analysis of the survey, and more detailed information and costs from TCI, the board will determine if this is a proposal worth pursuing further. Click Here to print the survey and return it to Margaret Leonard in the office (9550 S Ocean Dr, Office, Jensen Beach, Fl 34957) as soon as possible.
